Producer
Meet Adam Dorey, the creative entrepreneur leading Hi Friends Productions. Adam is dedicated to producing shows with upcoming talent, including Hi Friends Productions' debut, queer comedy-drama, 'Deadname or the Modern Frankenstein'. Keen to create inclusive spaces for diverse artists to thrive, he is currently launching Hi Friends Productions' 2024/2025 programme, which includes orginal theatre, live music and community events. As a performer himself, he is currently starring alongside Erik Booth in 'Deadname' as the Creature. An acclaimed events and theatre photographer, he also works with clients to craft compelling photography and videography packages.
Adam has produced two queer pantomimes and a short play, picking up directing, writing and stage management credits through these efforts. He has charmed audiences as a pantomime dame twice and through musical theatre showcases. A lover of all kinds of creative platforms and formats, he has previously hosted and produced a weekly RnB radio show and founded a magazine for emerging non-fiction writers.
Adam is currently working on a diverse array of theatrical projects, including an original musical using Greek mythology to explore and critique incel culture. Adam's work demonstrates his penchant for off-beat comedy and inventive adaptations, captivating audiences with his unique blend of humor and depth.
A multifaceted artist, Adam is also a talented singer-songwriter and producer, currently producing his first EP. With a background in activism, spending two years leading campaigns for University of Birmingham's Guild of Students, Adam is determined to produce and craft progressive narratives that delight and inspire audiences.

Associate Director
Meet Erik Booth - writer, director and performer for Hi Friend's productions latest show 'Deadname' - a show using the Frankenstein myth as a lens to explore queerness, specifically the trans identity, and its complex relationship to the concept of "monstrosity". Living as a trans man, Erik understands living in a world which at best refuses to recognise your existence and at worst works to destroy it. Deadname explores these topics, stepping with alternating lightness and gravitas in a one-act play which functions as a discussion with the self.
Beyond Deadname, Erik has participated in variety of shows, in a variety of different roles, both on and off stage. From villain to hero, writer to make-up artist, director to ghoul #3, Erik has had enormous experience with the creative process of community theatre and continues to be fascinated with it. Erik hopes to use these experiences to bring his particular brand of off-beat and animated theatre he likes to create.
As for the future, Erik Booth plans to spend a lot of it in darkened room, quietly honing his skills to produce more flying fancies and delicious dramas. In other words, writing a lot more poems, plays and stories to delight the weirdos of the world.
